We are looking for a few great volunteers who are willing to spend March 21-24th reading books and leading a hands-on activity for students in local elementary schools. All materials and books will be provided to you from the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Buncombe County Center. This is a great way show your support of agriculture!
This will be the first year we have done the program since schools closed due to COVID so we are VERY excited!! In 2019 we were able to read to over 1,200 students in 39 classrooms in 7 different schools and we hope to provide this program to many more. It takes VOLUNTEERS to do this. If you are interested in serving as a volunteer to read to 2, 4, 6….as many classes as you wish, please contact Holly Jordan at (828) 255-5522 by March 13th to sign up.
