Collapse ▲Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project (ASAP) has been an essential pillar of the local food and farming movement in Western North Carolina. Every year ASAP hosts the Business of Farming Conference, a one-day event that could be thought of as a crash course in the financial know-how of maintaining a successful agricultural enterprise. Anyone new to farming, or those farmers who are keen on sharpening business skills, can greatly benefit from attending the 2020 event, happening February 22, 2020, at AB Tech Conference Center in Asheville, NC.

Cost Share Funding Available
In addition to the Business of Farming Conference, ASAP has Cost-Share funding available for farmers in the region. Through support from the North Carolina Tobacco Trust Fund Commission, ASAP can reimburse NC farms for 75% (up to $1,500) of costs to design and print custom labels, packaging, signs, and other marketing materials for their Appalachian Grown farm business.
Applications are currently being accepted for ASAP’s Appalachian Grown Cost Share grant, and are approved on a rolling basis until funds run out.
