It’s getting to that holiday time between Thanksgiving and New Years, when many of us put on a few pounds. It is a hectic time and also a time that can be full of tasty foods and drinks, so it isn’t surprising that our weight creeps up on us. Since 2006, NC State University and the NC Division of Public Health have partnered to bring us the Eat Smart, Move More, Maintain, don’t gain! Holiday Challenge.
This challenge has a focus on maintaining our pre-holiday weight rather than trying to lose weight. It includes sharing healthy eating and physical activity strategies that help us all have a healthy and happy holiday season. It is a FREE seven-week challenge and provides you with strategies and resources to help maintain your weight throughout the holiday season. Unfortunately, as we mindfully enter the 2023 Holiday Challenge, they are sharing that this will be their final year. So, let’s make it the greatest challenge year ever. Share with your friends and family and make it a group challenge. This way you can also support those you love as they try to “Maintain Not Gain” this year.
