Meet Your EFNEP Program Educator - June Staff Highlight

Amanda Bremseth _EFNEP

Amanda Bremseth is our Buncombe County Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) Educator. Her role as a Nutrition Educator for Buncombe County is to partner with agencies and entities that serve SNAP-eligible families and children. She teaches children in public schools, and also offers classes for adults with children in the home, which can be both traditional parents but also any adult who is responsible for providing meals to children in their care.

Amanda truly loves assisting others with improving their health and wellness. She has worked as a Nutrition Educator for Clemson Extension, Harvest Hope Food Bank, and for Whole Foods Market for their corporate employee healthy living program. She was also a Montessori teacher for ten years.

Amanda grew up in Columbia, SC but moved to her second home Knoxville, TN when she was 28. She is a certified group fitness instructor and a home interior designer. She volunteers with animal rescues and rescued and re-homed close to 100 dogs and cats. She is a daily home cook and loves all things to do with making healthy eating just as delicious as less healthy options. Amanda also runs five days a week and does Crossfit two days each week. Food is life, so she lives to eat and eats to live!
