Cover cropping is an important practice for all farming types, including row crops, vegetables, organic, conventional, and regenerative. Learn how you can increase profits by increasing organic matter and preventing soil erosion with cover crops that are appropriate for your cropping system at this workshop happening Friday, September 24, 2021, in Transylvania County.
Beginning at 9 a.m. we'll take a farm tour of Gaia Herbs and assess their cover crops and discuss other strategies for taking care of our topsoil while remaining profitable. Doug Robertson from Ag Care in Canton will give us a presentation on cover crop mixes that are available and well-suited for this area.
Following this workshop, a free lunch will be provided thanks to a New and Beginning Farmer Grant from N.C. Cooperative Extension.
Date: Friday, September 24, 2021
