Green Industry License Recertification Classes

**New Recertification Requirements**

Flier regarding pesticide license holder new requirement. Read article for full requirements.

New pesticide requirements are now in effect for all NC Commercial Pesticide applicators and NC Private Pesticide applicators who took their pesticide exam prior to July 1st, 2025

What is the new requirement?

In addition to your normal recertification requirements, you are now required to watch the Required Pesticide Certification & Training Standards Update training video to bring you up to current training standards as well as fill out the attestation form after watching the video to remain compliant. These standards are set by the EPA to ensure all pesticide applicators are up-to-date on current safety standards for pesticide applications.

When do I need to complete this new requirement?

The deadline to watch the Required Pesticide Certification & Training Standards Update training video and to fill out the attestation form is by your next recertification deadline. If you are curious about when you are due for recertification, you can check yourself using the NCDA database or contact your local extension office.

What are my options to fulfill this requirement?

You can attend a local in-person training that includes this video training at your local extension office OR you can complete this training anytime, anywhere by watching the video on your own and filling out the attestation form yourself. Again, be sure to do so before your next recertification deadline.

What happens if I don't watch this video and submit my attestation form?

If, by your next recertification date, you do not watch the specific Required Pesticide Certification & Training Standards Update training video and fill out the attestation form you will not complete all recertification requirements as set by the NCDA and will have to re-test to obtain your pesticide certification.

Is this training a one-time requirement or will this be an annual recurring requirement?

The Required Pesticide Certification & Training Standards Update training is a one-time update requirement for all pesticide license holders who tested prior to July 1st, 2025. This will not have to be done annually and watching the video and filling out the attestation form one time ensures you will remain compliant.

Where can I find the training video and attestation form that I can submit online?

You can find the Required Pesticide Certification & Training Standards Update training video here.

You can find the Required Pesticide Certification & Training Standards Update attestation form here.

If you have further questions about this specific training, you can reach out to the NCDA&CS Structural Pest Control and Pesticides Division at 984-236-4575.
