We are once again excited to be partnering with the Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers of Buncombe County again this year for the 4-H Mini Gardening Project.
This is an opportunity to “dig in” and have fun with your own vegetable garden while learning through input provided by Master Gardener℠ volunteers. This opportunity is open to ANY of our 4-H families, friends, and youth in Buncombe County. We welcome all kinds of gardens: ground gardens, raised gardens, container gardens, and more.
Below are a few details of this year's program:- We will have plant pick-up the week of June 14th at the Buncombe Extension Office. This is when families can stop by to pick up your box of plants. Please contact Holly Jordan at holly_jordan@ncsu.edu to schedule your pick up time.
- The Extension Master Gardeners will host a workshop in the teaching garden at the Buncombe Extension Office to show planting techniques, insect/pest control, fertilizer application, weeding, and more!
- If requested, the Extension Master Gardeners will visit your garden to provide suggestions, answer specific questions, and help troubleshoot any issues you might have
- During the summer growing months, we will ask participants to share photos of your garden and harvest to celebrate your success!!
