This training is for any adult 4-H volunteers who are interested in offering the 4-H Shooting Sports program to 4-H youth. Volunteers MUST complete this 4-H training before being able to volunteer at the range.
The format for the 4-H Shooting Sports Instructor training is changing for the spring workshop. This will be a one-day training with limited numbers and limited disciplines, AND an online requirement. We will only have a max of 10 per discipline, first come first serve. Options will include selecting a preferred discipline.
When: May 1, 2021
Where: Big Ivy Guns @ Silas Branch, 1435 Silas Branch Rd, Burnsville, NC 28714
Cost: $50, includes lunch and materials.
Time: Check-in will start at 8:30 a.m., training starts at 9 a.m., finish around 5:30 p.m.
Registration Deadline: April 16
Registration Link: Online form
***In addition to registering for the in-person training above, all participants MUST complete an online portion of the training no later than April 9. National 4-H has developed online training modules that will enable us to only have to have the one-day, in-person training and eliminate the need for overnight accommodations. The online training module costs $20 and can be found at: 4-H Shooting Sports College
As always, we expect you to work with your 4-H agent to be qualified as a 4-H volunteer. You will need to be signed up in 4-H online and have completed the proper screening and training sessions. We will conform to the social distancing and face-covering guidelines, so please bring the face covering of your choice.
Registration confirmation will be sent on April 16, with more information. If you have any questions about this training, please contact Holly Jordan at holly_jordan@ncsu.edu.
