Thank you for your interest in the Wilkesboro Cub Creek Community Garden. The garden was created in 2011 from a $7,000 grant through the Wilkes County Health Department from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for Childhood Nutrition, a $1,000 grant from Walmart, Extension plant sale funds, and private contributions. On May 7, 2011, the garden was opened for gardeners to join. In 2017, 47 additional raised beds were completed, bringing the total plots available to rent to 55.

There is a small annual rental fee ($20) associated with renting a community garden plot. This covers shared access to tools, as well as some fertilizers, soil amendments, and pesticides. All gardeners are required to abide by Community Garden policies.

All plots have been rented for the 2024 garden season. If you would like to join the waitlist send an email to mhclay@ncsu.edu or call 336-651-7333. You can also fill out the form linked below.
