Due to inclement weather seen this time of year, and in light of severe storms that have recently impacted our area, we wanted to pass along resources to those impacted by weather for our local agricultural operations. If you experience damage from weather you should:
1. Take photos to document damage to crops, farm buildings, equipment, and livestock.
2. Contact insurance companies for farm buildings and equipment damage. Contact your insurance agent if you have crop damage. If you have uninsured crops, you can report to the Buncombe County FSA and they will take a crop report and a loss report.

Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project (ASAP) is now providing up to $500 in emergency relief aid for those farmers affected by last week's hail event in the Barnardsville/Marshall area. The link to the immediate needs grant is below and is a straightforward form to gauge the overall impact of the storm to your farming operation.
Funding is to be used for tangible materials or tools needed for farm businesses to respond to or recover from recent natural disasters, not covered by insurance or other available programs. This does not include salaries, overhead, or operating expenses.
