The WNC AgOptions grant program has had a huge impact on farms across the region. Exclusively funded by the Tobacco Trust Fund, it has enabled farms, many in Buncombe County, to capitalize on expansion and diversification projects that lead to greater profitability for small agricultural operations. Growers translate grant dollars into farm improvements, equipment updates, infrastructure additions, and production tools and reduce the risk to Small farm businesses trialing new and unusual crops.

We are pleased to announce the following Buncombe County farms that are recipients of the 2024 WNC AgOptions grant program: Bartlett Farms, Duckett Farms, Good Wheel Farm & Grogan Livestock. Their projects will help them expand into new crops for their farm, increase efficiency and maximize productivity with their unique operations. More broadly, these grants provide important guidance to other farms and serve as compass points toward sustaining the agricultural integrity of our region.
