Buncombe County 4-H is excited to announce a holiday service project! Buncombe County youth are invited to put your "hands to larger service" this holiday season by making Christmas cards for veterans in Buncombe County.
Dropping off cards:Cards are due to the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Buncombe County Center by Friday, December 12th. There will be a box outside our office front door which cards can be left in after hours. During normal business hours (8am-5pm, M-F) cards can be placed in the drop-off bin in the front lobby.Guidelines for making cards:
- Cards should be completed by youth (not adults!)
- Show off your creativity with drawings, color, holiday art, etc.
- Cards DO NOT have to be in an envelope. If you choose to use an envelope, to leave it UNSEALED and do not address the envelope!
- Inside your card, be sure to include a sentence thanking the veteran for their service to our Country. Examples include:
- Thank you for serving our nation
- Thank you for your courage and sacrifice
- Thank you for defending our freedom
- Sign the card using your first name only
