Buncombe County 4-H Cards for Veterans Service Project.

Buncombe County 4-H is excited to announce a holiday service project! Buncombe County youth are invited to put your “hands to larger service” this holiday season by making Christmas cards for veterans in Buncombe County.

Dropping off cards: Cards are due to the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Buncombe County Center by Friday, December 12th. There will be a box outside our office front door which cards can be left in after hours. During normal business hours (8 a.m.-5 p.m., M-F) cards can be placed in the drop-off bin in the front lobby.

Guidelines for making cards:

  • Cards should be completed by youth (not adults!)
  • Show off your creativity with drawings, color, holiday art, etc.
  • Cards DO NOT have to be in an envelope. If you choose to use an envelope, to leave it UNSEALED and do not address the envelope!
  • Inside your card, be sure to include a sentence thanking the veteran for their service to our Country. Examples include:
    • Thank you for serving our nation
    • Thank you for your courage and sacrifice
    • Thank you for defending our freedom
  • Sign the card using your first name only
Hand made happy holiday cards.
