North Carolina Farm Bureau has just opened its Hurricane Relief Fund, administered through the Farm Assistance and Recovery Mission (FARM) program, that aims to help area farms impacted by Tropical Storm Fred. The program provides assistance to eligible farmers who suffer losses due to hurricanes and tropical storms.

Producers impacted by Tropical Storm Fred (August 16–20, 2021), in Avery, Buncombe, Haywood, Madison, Transylvania, Watauga, or Yancey County, may request assistance. Qualifying producers will receive assistance based on the total number of producers who participate in the program. The assistance provided is subject to the availability of funds and will not exceed $500 per producer.

Producers are encouraged to submit an online application which includes uploading their damage verification. For those not able to do so, a paper application and damage verification can be submitted by one of the following options:

  1. Return it to their County Farm Bureau Offices
  2. Scan and email application to foundation@ncfb.org
  3. Mail to NC Farm Bureau, Attention: Farm Assistance and Recovery Mission, PO Box 27766, Raleigh NC 27611

The submission deadline is October 31, 2021.

More information regarding the FARM program and current applications can also be found online. Any questions should be directed to NC Farm Bureau, 919-783-4319 or foundation@ncfb.org.
