The weather has finally cooled and fall is here! It’s time to go out and find the biggest pumpkin you can to decorate. While you’re decorating for the fall season, consider entering your masterpiece in one of N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center’s Fall Family Fun contests. If you’re decorating your yard or porch enter our Festive Fall Arrangement Contest. Rules and sign up for that can be found on our Fair page. If you’re carving or decorating your pumpkin, enter our Pumpkin Carving Contest. If you’re really excited about fall, why not enter both?

The rules for the Pumpkin Carving Contest are simple, first, register for our Fall Family Fun event through Eventbrite. This will give you reminders when we post our videos, articles, and more! After registering, sign up for the contest through our entry form. The form will ask for your contact information, demographic information, pumpkin design name, and a photo of your masterpiece. Rules for the contest designs are listed below:

Rules

  1. Pumpkins must be decorated/carved by the person submitting the entry form.
  2. Pumpkins can be decorated, carved, or shaved.
  3. Stencil designs can be submitted, but credit the stencil design name/maker.
  4. Only pumpkins can be submitted, no other vegetables/fruit/objects.
  5. Offensive entries will be disqualified.

Entries will be accepted until 8 a.m. on October 30, 2020. Voting will then open for one week to allow Fall Family Fun participants to vote on their favorite pumpkin carving design. Voting will end on November 9, and winners will be announced on November 10 on our VR main stage event at noon. Make sure to vote for your favorite design, and check our fair page to see how well your pick is doing!
