NC State University brings you: the 4th Annual South Atlantic Hops Conference: Beer and Beyond, Growing Hops for Multiple Uses and Markets. This conference is designed to educate, enlighten, and engage growers, brewers, beer enthusiasts, and other interested parties about the South Atlantic hops industry. The event will take place all day Saturday, March 16 and the first half of Sunday, March 17. Special partners for this conference include Catawba Brewing Company, the hops program at Virginia Tech University, and the Old Dominion Hops Cooperative.

The conference will feature two of the Michigan State University specialists, Rob Sirrine and Erin Lizotte, who helped the Michigan hops industry grow from almost nothing to the #1 hops growing region outside of the Pacific Northwest. The South Atlantic region can learn so much from their experiences; good and bad.

There is also an entire track devoted to other creative markets for hops. Think outside the box a bit! There are chefs, florists, herb and tea companies, and more looking for high quality, locally grown hops. And what about making distillates? Or what other crops can you grow to compliment your hops? There is so much to learn, and this conference is a good place to do start. Networking opportunities abound, and of course, you can’t miss being in Asheville for St. Patrick’s Day! Follow the link below and register today. Sponsor and exhibitor spaces are also actively open, so consider this opportunity for your small farm or business.
