Community The Buncombe County Community Development Council began in the 1950's to coordinate the work of the various community development clubs in the county. Its purpose is to encourage and strengthen the community development process. Buncombe County has been fortunate to have a strong County Council that helps to plan, coordinate and implement community service projects and to develop leadership skills among its members. Anyone that lives in the boundaries of an organized community is welcome to participate with the Council. Currently there are fifteen active clubs in Buncombe County. Events
