Please come and visit or call the Master Gardener Helpline at the Buncombe County Cooperative Extension Center. If you have a particular question about a pest or plant ID question, please bring a sample when you visit. Rain Barrel
Availability

Buncombe County Cooperative Extension has 80 gallon rain barrels available. Each barrel comes complete with fittings and installation instructions. Barrels are available for $110 + tax, cash or check only. To purchase your barrel, come to the Buncombe County Extension Office, 94 Coxe Ave., Asheville, NC 28801. Gardening Guide for
our Mountains

Need an inexpensive and very useful holiday gift for a gardener, for a gift exchange, or for yourself?  Buncombe County Cooperative Extension offers this attractive and informative 30 page Guide tailored to growing conditions in Buncombe County and Western North Carolina.  Monthly To-Do lists help you remember essential garden tasks.  Special topics abound, including those listed below and many others.  The Guide is in “magazine” format 8 and 1/2″ by 11″ with a handy hole at upper left for pinning on a bulletin board or hanging in your workspace. TOPICS INCLUDE: Firewise Landscaping, Shade: A Cool Place to Garden, Compost, Caring for Trees and Shrubs, WNC Vegetable Garden Planting Guide, Helpful Definitions, Resources Toward an Environmentally Friendly Garden HOW TO PURCHASE At the Extension Office (cash or check only) Garden Guides can be purchased at the Buncombe County Extension Office, 94 Coxe Ave., Asheville for $10 (cash or check). There is free parking for your visit in the lot across the street.  You may have it mailed to you by sending a check for $12 (made out to BCMG Enhancement Fund) to BCMG Enhancement Fund, c/o NC Cooperative Extension Office, 94 Coxe Ave., Asheville, NC 28801.
